The Orbis Flying Eye has landed in Rwanda

The Orbis Flying Eye hospital has landed in Rwanda, with the goal of delivering an intensive two-week training courser to build and strengthen eyecare across the country.

The eye hospital will offer the opportunity to learn about advanced surgical techniques and telemedicine consultations.

The Orbis team will be working alongside the Rwanda International Institute of Ophthalmology at its partner hospital, Kibagabaga Hospital.

The training will be sponsored by @Alcon foundation, where local teams will be using VR tools to deepen their skills in cataract surgery.

This sight – saving training is now more vital than ever, with only 30 ophthalmologists serving a population of over 13 million in Rwanda.
