๐Ÿ‘ถ August is Childrenโ€™s Eye Health & Safety Month, a time to focus on maintaining and protecting childrenโ€™s vision.

๐Ÿ‘ The first five years of life are crucial for vision development, and clear vision is essential for academic success as 80% of learning is now visual.

Here are some essential tips for ensuring your childโ€™s eye health:

1. Regular Eye Exams: Schedule eye exams at six months, three years, before starting school, and annually thereafter to detect issues early.

2. Protective Eyewear: Use safety googles or sports glasses during activities to prevent eye injuries.

3. Healthy Screen Habits: Follow the 20-20-20 rule to reduce digital eye strain: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away.

4. Nutrient-Rich Diet: Include foods high in vitamins A and C, and omega-3 fatty acids to support eye health.

5. Sun Protection: Teach kids to wear sunglasses blocking 100% of UVA and UVB rays and use wide-brimmed hats.

6. Recognise Vision Problems: Watch for signs like eye rubbing, squinting, or holding books close, and schedule an eye exam if noticed.
