MIDO MILAN 2023 - W 👓 W!
What an experience it was attending MIDO 2023 for the first time. We forged some great new relationships in the eyewear space and were lucky enough to be first-time viewers of some amazing innovations. MIDO 2023 marks the start of a new era for the eyewear show, marking its 51st edition. Attendance was at an all-time high with over 35,000 industry professionals showing up for the occasion. With over 1,000 exhibitors, it wasn’t an event to miss.
LAPIMA
Visting MIDO for the first time, Brazilian founded, Lapima presented its bold, colorful models in a bid to discover the label’s vibrant eyecare range which focussed highly on the use of XXL frames, curves & colour. The brand centers on bringing the vibe and atmosphere of Brazil to the forefront of the eyewear industry. Lapima’s latest collection celebrated Brazil’s natural environment.
Tortuga
The Parisian organisation exhibited premium frames using one single shape, which was available in several colours. It’s based on a classic, timeless look.
Ronit Furst Eyewear
Something for those who want to attract attention! Years of work by the Israeli designer have gone into creating colourful frames, coherent with works of art. Whilst some designs are made in traditional factories, others are hand painted in their very own workshop. As part of the brand, personalisation is possible, giving buyers the opportunity to show off their creative flair.
Iron
Paying homage to the most iconic monument in Paris, France. Iron’s eyewear range is based on the Eiffel Tower, commonly referred to as the iron lady. Models are supported by a gold-plated structure, combined with pierced lenses.
Impuri
Born into the lockdown days of Covid-19, Impuri are a newcoming to the eyewear space. Their USP is that their ethical production processes help them stand out against longer-standing players in the market. Their unique process uses only two materials – carbon fibre and aluminum. Could this be the future of eyewear?
