🤝Marcolin completes acquisition of Ic! Berlin.
Marcolin has finalised its acquisition of independent eyewear manufacturer ic! berlin. Ic! Berlin will become one of Marcolin’s house brands, along with WEB EYEWEAR, another Marcolin proprietary brand, to strengthen a strategic segment for the company. The acquisition is part of Marcolin’s strategy of enhancing its expertise in metal manufacturing and broadening its luxury portfolio, while also strengthening its market positioning in key areas, such as Asia and Europe.

🕶️ Safilo Group teams up with Amazon on Alexa smart glasses.
Safilo has partnered with e-commerce giant Amazon to develop innovative smart glasses, integrating the Alexa technology into two frame designs. The ‘Carrera Smart Glasses’, currently available exclusively in the US market, come complete with open-ear audio technology, channelling sound directly to the wearer’s ears while minimising external auditory impact. CEO of Safilo Angelo Trocchia said that the company has “always looked to the future with an innovative approach”.

🥳EssilorLuxottica and Moncler announce exclusive licencing agreement.
EssilorLuxottica and Moncler have announced the signing of an exclusive licensing agreement that includes the design, production, and global distribution of Moncler eyewear. This partnership, effect from January 2024 until December 2028, will leverage EssilorLuxottica’s extensive experience and commitment to innovation and will further elevate the Moncler Lunettes collections.

Coral Eyewear announce the acquisition of fellow sustainable brand Pala Eyewear and will be showing the brand for the first time at 100% Optical. Pala Eyewear, with its’ B-corp status, has supported more than 28,000 individuals to receive accessible and affordable eye acre.
Co- founder of Coral Eyewear, George Bailey said: “Bringing on board Pala’s array of knowledge and high-quality collections allows Coral Eyewear to increase its ever-growing share of voice in the eyewear industry, as we continue to seek ways to implement more purpose-led sustainable change”.

Linda Farrow introduces a new capsule collection, ‘White Christmas’, just in time for the festive season. This limited-edition collection features three distinct styles in a winter white colourway: Elodie, a flat top D-Frame; Otavia, an oversized round style; and Marcelo, a white gold aviator with exquisite painted detailing. The ‘White Christmas’ campaign imagery features the British model, author and women’s rights activist Charli Howard, who said: “It was an absolute honour to work with Linda Farrow – an iconic British brand that has always encouraged women to be confident and fearless over the years”.
