The glasses combine a camera with an integrated display, allowing wearers to see information such as translated speech within their field of view.  ## What can Rokid’s smart glasses do? According to [Rokid’s launch announcement](https://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/rokid-glasses-enters-the-uk-market-with-retail-availability-at-selfridges-302924474.html), the glasses offer real-time translation in 89 languages, visual search, and photo and video capture. They also support prescription lenses. The built-in display is central to how the glasses work: information appears in front of the wearer’s eyes, reducing the need to look down at a phone to read it. ## How does live conversation translation work? [Rokid’s UK product guidance](https://gb.rokid.com/pages/faq) explains that microphones capture speech and the glasses display translated text in real time. Online translation uses a network connection and supports 89 languages, including Spanish and English. For someone ordering food on holiday in Spain, that could mean reading an English translation while a waiter speaks Spanish. Offline translation supports six languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, German, French and Spanish. Users must first pair and activate the glasses through the app and download the relevant language models. Rokid advises checking the app for the available language list, which can vary by region or software version. ## Where can shoppers experience the glasses? The permanent display is within a distributor-operated retail space at the Selfridges Tech Bar, in the Lower Ground Floor Technology Hall at 400 Oxford Street, London. The physical display gives shoppers a place to experience the features before deciding whether the glasses suit their needs.
