📋 A new survey aiming to understand mental wellbeing and burnout among optometrists and pre-registration optometrists has been launched. This initiative is part of a PhD project by Neil Retallic at the University of Bradford, focusing on the mental health challenges faced by professionals in the optometry field.
👩⚕️ The survey incorporates well-established questionnaires alongside demographic and risk factor queries, offering participants the opportunity to provide additional comments. According to Retallic, the primary goal is to gauge the level of mental wellbeing and burnout among UK optometrists and pre-registration optometrists and identify potential triggers.
❓ Participation in the survey is voluntary, consisting of approximately 30 questions, with an average completion time of just eight minutes. This quick yet comprehensive approach ensures that valuable insights can be gathered efficiently, contributing to a broader understanding of mental health in the optometry profession.
🧠 By participating, optometrists and pre-registration optometrists can help highlight key areas that need attention and support within the industry, ultimately fostering a healthier and more supportive working environment.
