California Legislature have recently passed AC 2236, a bill relating to optometric surgery. This means that optometristโs scope of practice in California has been expanded to include some scalpel and laser eye surgeries, along with medication injections. An optometrist thatโs already been certified to treat glaucoma to obtain certification to perform specified advanced procedures on meeting certain education, training, examination, and other requirements.
